Southern Kiss

A waft of hickory passes my nose, as I taste the sweet barbeque that lingers on your breath. Fresh cut grass; vast fields of corn. The open blue sky that was ever expanding. Straw hat atop; wheat behind your ear. I cozied in on your warm eyes. The song of the South was in the open air in chorus with the birds and the gentle wind; I ended up getting lost in the music. The unbearable heat had me delirious, the tension was magnetic. I was quickly pulled in. As my hand passed through your thick hair I seemed to lose sense of it all. Then it happened.

Your infectious smile makes my knees weak. Makes living today, hundred times easier. My heart begins to melt as I feel you near. As you casually approach, I know I'm done for. You're my sunshine as I stand in the rain. The whole world out here, but I'm the only one not wet. With you, I feel like everything is in alignment. A bond so strong, only a catalyst could break. I know I'm awkward and timid. Meek and troublesome. I know I'm not what you want. But there's that part of me that likes wishful thinking. In the end, we're worlds apart with no possible collision.

There Goes (That Feeling Again)

It happens in a blink sending your mind into a deep abyss. It's the feeling that eats at you, slow and deep; painful and empty. I'm feeling that feeling again and it's bringing me down, deeper and lower. Will I ever come out? There goes that feeling again and its bring me down quick. I'm trying to find the strength to surface but I'm being eaten alive. As your heart pounds through your skin the rush of blood causes explosions everywhere. I feared it would end this way. I'm losing this game. When I open my eyes will I be living?

"Don't you think she's hitting you hard?" I tell you. Your facial expression: taken aback. "No...I didn't mean she actually hits you." I'd kill her if she did; I hope you know. I quiver slightly. You must hear my thoughts. "I just don't think she's right for you." I feel the sizzle from that sting. Your longing gaze asks a simple question. "I just feel she brings you down." You're meant to do better than she could ever do. That's fact. You speak: "The sex is good." But that only cures the itch. "And I certainly hope it is" I pause. I do it for the effect. Hey everybody! I know it has been over three months since I've been on here. I am just letting you know that I am alive and well. Between work, school, and etc. I have been really busy. Over the past months I have taken some wonderful pictures that I plan to post. I left my camera in Florida so it will be at least a week or two before you see them, but I promise that you will get to see them eventually. As for my poetic endeavors, I am not feeling as inspired as I used to feel. Perhaps something will come in the future...I can't be too sure of that.
